A Tour of Penally House Cornwall
Interior designer, journalist and stylist Anouska Lancaster is a big fan of pattern and colour, which is evident throughout the interior design of her coastal renovation project, Penally House. Her stunning use of clashing patterns and bold colours injects a ton of personality into each and every room and is an inspiration when it comes to mixing old with new. Step with us inside Penally House as we take a tour of the rooms...

The Snug
In the snug, Anouska has gone for a pretty pastel palette of pinks, yellows and baby blues. Our Acradia Sherbet wallpaper framed within the wall panelling brings a refreshing and updated feel to the space, perfect for snuggling down with a good book in.
"I started the design of this room by was looking on the Woodchip & Magnolia website for another heritage looking wallpaper that would work with the wallpaper in the kitchen and Living Room. I originally wanted a darker colour but in the end decided that the room was so light and bright and so full of natural light that I would embrace that by going for the Arcadia sherbet."

"The colours are so uplifting – the room feels like sunshine personified! I loved the fact that the wallpaper had the pink in it as I also had my heart set on a pink sofa."

The Basement Bedroom & Bathroom
Anouska converted an old store room in the basement of the Grade II listed property into a bedroom with freestanding bath and went for a bold leopard print theme, using our Rapture True Leopard wallpaper on the walls.

Paired beautifully with a pink paint colour on the walls (similar to our 003 Pink Cloud paint colour), Anouska has showcased how to use leopard print the right way. With the bed canopy and soft furnishings sticking to the leopard print theme and upholstered in a fabric similar to our Big Kat Navy velvet fabric, it's a perfect combination of sophisticated and traditional with a hint of fun and personality written all over it.
The Master Bedroom
"I absolutely adore this room, flooded with natural light from the garden.
I wanted to add wow factor and colour in true @noushka_design style, I opted for this stunning Awning Striped Green/Magnolia wallpaper for the ceiling and another favourite fabric for the headboard and cushions.
The beautiful antique dressing table was gifted to us by the lovely @lornaalcorn who wanted her grandmother’s dressing table to go back to Cornwall where it originated ~ we were so touched when she got in touch with us."

"The fireplace was the one we took out the kitchen in series 1 of Renovation Nation, and it’s painted in one of my new paint colours.
The icing on the cake is the stunning orange Everhot Cooker!"
"There are so many details to mention, but huge thanks goes to Sonya Tuckett for the incredible half tester bed and Hartley Upholstery for the re-upholstered antique bed and having the patience of a saint to teach me to reupholster the dressing table chair!"
